Wall Recordings represents the dutch imprint label runned by Afrojack. Its parent label, Spinnin' Records hosts about 20 sub-labels including Sander van Doorn's Doorn Records, Afrojack's Wall Recordings, Tiesto's Music Freedom, Sidney Samson's Rock the Houze, Swanky Tunes' Showland and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike's Smash the House, all mainly focussing on Progressive House and Electro House.
Spinnin' Records, founded in The Netherlands in 1999, is a full service record company focusing on releasing electronic music record label and is recognized as one of the worlds leading independent dance music labels. Spinnin' Records was responsible for launching the careers of artists like Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, Nicky Romero, Bingo Players, and recently Martin Garrix who has had many crossover hits and holds a share in Dutch and international radio airplay.
In the span of less than 2 years, Afrojack has become one of electronic dance music's major icons. From humble DJ beginnings in his native country of Holland, he has grown to become a multi-award winning, platinum-selling producer. His skills are some of the most sought after in the world, and with two Grammy Awards under his belt, it's easy to see why. In addition to this, his DJ sets have fast become both iconic and unparalleled, providing an explosive take on the current state of dance music across the board.
Starting off in his hometown of Spijkenisse, Nick van der Wall, aka Afrojack, quickly made a name for himself with a slew of hard-hitting underground releases, before exploding in 2011 with the unveiling of "Take Over Control" - an instant worldwide club and chart hit going platinum in the USA. This also helped solidify his own imprint Wall Recordings as a pioneering club music brand - a value he holds dear as label boss and insures with every release.
To cap off a year of successful releases, Afrojack’s Wall Recordings imprint is leaving listeners with a fresh track from new signee Marc Benjamin. The Dutch DJ makes his label debut with “Riser,” a throbbing instrumental with a sonic punch. Straddling the line between progressive and electro, the tune takes on the appearance of an interlude before laying on a cascading tonal breakdown broken by a steady staccato build.
Diverging away from their classic sound of hard-hitting Dutch house, Wall Recordings started off 2013 with a more melodic progressive number from Style of Eye and Tom Staar entitled “After Dark”. With original support from mainstage names like Thomas Gold, Sander Van Doorn, and label boss Afrojack, the track now gets a boost with four new remixes, out now on Beatport. First up is Nom De Strip, who keeps the midsection chorus intact only to drop pulsating with acid house vibes.
Wall Recordings's artists roster includes acts such as: Afrojack, R3hab, Sidney Samson, Mayaadh, and new others to sign onto the label pretty soon.
