Stroboscopic Artefacts is an independent recording music label that was launched in Berlin, September 2009 and its founder and owner is no one other than the famous Luca Mortellaro, better known by the production as LUCY. Lucy is a producer, DJ, founder of Stroboscopic Artefacts. That's probably how you know him. But there's also Luca Mortellaro, a published author, experimental sound designer, and the man behind the Lucy moniker. There's no doubt that the two are linked, but it's certainly the hidden facets of Luca Mortellaro that are responsible for the dynamic output of Lucy.
The german imprint is notable for releasing experimental Techno and electronical music, borrowing the curiosity of a scientist to search the underground scene for the freshest and deepest electronic music.
Stroboscopic Artefacts has a habit of commissioning unusual work from its artists. Judging from the MONAD series and the Stellate ambient box sets, label boss Lucy loves a good concept. The label showcases adventures into electronic music from artists across the world. The label, as the name suggests, acts like a strobe light illuminating pioneering club sounds with each release. Stroboscopic Artefacts borrows the curiosity of a scientist to search the underground scene for the freshest and deepest sound.
