G-Unit Records is an American record label, specializing in hip hop music, founded in 2003 by rapper 50 Cent and his manager Sha Money XL. Upon its inception, it operated as a subsidiary of, and was distributed through, Universal Music Group's Interscope Records. In August 2010, the label added an additional distribution with EMI, however, it still maintains a distribution with Interscope. G-Unit Records is currently distributing G-Unit Philly, an extent of the label ran by fellow G-Unit signee Tony Yayo, along with the R&B, Dance and Pop division of the label, G-Note Records.
