F Communications, also known as FCom, is a French record label based in Paris. It was founded in 1994 by Eric Morand and Laurent Garnier as a successor of Fnac Music Dance Division.

Laurent Garnier has been making the planet dance for 25 years. And, for all this time, his huge energy has seen him grooving behind record decks, bouncing up and down behind studio equipment and leaping around radio studios. He is a multi-faceted artist whose impact on the music scene is far-reaching. But above all he is a DJ, a true DJ: transformed by music, passionate about the crowd. Bodies move in a trance on the dance floor, minds elsewhere. Yet he is also a discoverer of old and new sounds, and has an amazingly rich musical culture. He spends most of his spare time sifting through old vinyl in record shops, following the most obscure leads on the Internet and listening to every single piece of music he is sent. Music, the pulse of our planet, is his Holy Grail.

The french imprint produces dance and electronic music like Avril, Laurent Garnier, and Mr. Oizo amongst many others. The most notable releases include albums "Shot in the Dark" by Laurent Garnier and "Boulevard" by Saint Germain. The release of these successful albums proved that electronique music can be also listened from at home, and it releases the door in discovering and developing new artists.

During the celebration of F Communications 7th anniversary, back in 2001, the logo was changed to a budding tree with multiple branches and buds. Ahead of its time, the label explored the diversity of electronic music and an open vision (360 °) of the role of a label.

The label has now entered a slow hibernation after 14 years of hard work, and having written the first pages of the history of electronic music labels in France. When a tree must face the winter, it drops its leaves and dead branches. The tree itself is not dead. The sap is still in its trunk and in its strongest branches. A warmer day, a ray of sunlight, a new force and new buds may break through.

Eric Monrad owe this explanation to all the fans of the label, who have consistently expressed their support, especially in recent months. For now, the two owners have no new releases planned for F Communications. They are only taking care of the tree and its integrity, making sure that the broad catalogue of F Communications releases remains available both in shops and online.

The decision to put the label into hibernation was taken by Eric Morand. "After 15 years as head of Fcom and 18 years as a producer, I think I filled my role. In recent years I have opened myself to other worlds. I now enjoy a different view on music and its challenges. Music is and remains an essential component of my daily life, but not the only one.
