Baroque Records is a british based record label formed at the start of the new millenium, back in 2010, and aims to bring quality Underground music to the discerning listener, releasing some great progressive House tracks. The english label was founded by Keith McDonnel from innate, and Mack Parks of The Parks & Wilson fame. A favourite label with the likes of Seaman, Pappa, Digweed, sasha, and Jimmy Van M, and with production work and remixes by Parks & Wilson, Innate, Tarrentella Vs Redanka, Andy Moor, and more, Baroque is one of the leading labels at the moment.
Keith has been DJing for the last 15 years and producing, for the last 10. As with most, he started out by dj’ing in his own back yard - Coventry - and gradually went further a field to venues like the legendary "Milk Bar" - London, the "House" & later the "Garage" club in Nottingham & Bonds in Birmingham . Towards the end of ‘1999 baroque records was set up, and has gone on to being one of the UK’s most established house music labels.
Baroque’s first release was Odessi ‘Moments of space’, Being produced by Parks & Wilson and Leama, it quickly became a firm favorite with the masses and has to date been licensed to over a dozen compilations including. Anthony Pappa’s Global – Underground, Dave Seaman’s – Renaissance, Taylor & Jimmy Van M – Trance Nation America, John ‘00’ Flemming’s – React CD & the massive Chilled Euphoria alongside various others from around the globe. It received Progressive Single Of The Month accolade in Muzik Magazine aswell as glowing reviews in 7, M8, DJ mag etc. It also charted at number 16 in the Hype Chart & number 18 in the Coolcuts to name a few. To date it has sold over 5000 copies and helped place baroque firmly on the map from the start.
Following on for baroque’s second release was Innate ‘Changes’, Produced by Keith McDonnell, this was an ideal follow up for baroque and gave them a now solid platform to build from. ‘Changes’ also saw licensing success and secured a place on the ‘Home’ cd mixed by Steve Lawler amongst others. Again this was received well by the dance press and saw maximum points reviews from Muzik, 7 Mag etc etc. As well as entering the same dance charts as before ‘Changes’ also entered 7 Magazines Buzz Chart at number 17 meaning baroque had now seen support from all major charts. in fact it went on to be included in 7 Magazines ‘Best of the buzz chart’ CD on the cover of the following issue. Such was the success of the release that Innate’s ‘Changes’ was licensed to Platipus Records in August of this year and will be re-released by them in November 2000.
