A-Wave represents the record label of System 7. The first few releases on the label were re-issues of the group's previous releases on its parent label, Butterfly Records.

The London based label was launched back in 1999 and ever since then it served as an outlet for System 7 and Mirror System’s releases. Mirror System is a project from the duo of System 7, established in 2005 as a "vehicle for developing the chilled & downtempo dimensions of our music".

System 7 is a band based around Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy. SYSTEM 7’s Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy have had a strong influence on the birth of psychedelic dance music and it’s journey up to the present, forging a unique and bang up-to-date identity on the genre map, in a space where techno, progressive and trance meet – with a healthy side-element of unique quality ambient chill which is connected and reflected in their sister project Mirror System.

Since the beginning of the 90s System 7 projects have been marked by a series of high powered collaborations, working with Detroit luminaries Derrick May and Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, The Orb, Jam El Mar, Son Kite among others. System 7’s club singles have had outstanding remixes from the likes of Plastikman, James Holden and Dubfire, whose mix of Space Bird was number one on Beatport’s main chart for 2 weeks in 2008.

Consistently progressive, System 7’s central producers - guitarist Steve Hillage and keyboardist Miquette Giraudy - have forged a unique and bang up-to-date identity on the dance music genre map, in a space where techno, progressive and trance meet – with a healthy side-element of unique quality ambient chill. This chill element is further developed in their sister project Mirror System.

As one of the first techno groups to play live, System 7 have also had a strong influence on the development of the dance music festival scene, particularly in the UK, and are big festival favourites playing regularly around the world.

The most recent single “PositiveNoise” is a collaboration with A Guy Called Gerald and has remixes by Carl Craig and A.Mochi and another groundbreaking animation video by Japanese team Mood Magic. This track is taken from the new System 7 album “UP” released in June 2011, a lot of which was written and produced in Berlin.
