Tic Tac Toe Records

Patrick Bateman aka Kenneth Broxgaard started Tic Tac Toe back in 2004. At the time, his plan was to release and showcase the wide array of Danish talent he was unearthing in his home country. Given the success of early releases, though, from artists like Theodor Zox, Hansen & DJ Daniel and Trentemøller, things soon took off and the label began to garner a number of international fans.

Now going stronger than ever after 8 years, the imprint has spawned a number of compilations and EPs from a long list of artists, new and old alike. Names like Ryan Crosson, Mike Shannon, Guy Gerber and Maetrik have all released or remixed on the imprint, with a number of Tic Tac Toe tracks having also been licensed to compilations like the Fabric mix series.

The sonic remit of the label has always been a dark and moody one; from stripped back minimal techno to dubbed-out tech house, it is music for the floor and always will be.

Tic Tac Toe serves as a parent label for Connect Four. Connect Four was started in 2007 as an outlet for a different side of dance music than its older sister Tic Tac Toe. Focusing on house, deep house and a soft melodic tech house sound, the label has chosen its releases carefully over the years, but is now as active as ever.

Honing a deeper take on electronica with every release, names like James Teej, Dub Taylor and Liapin aka Afrilounge have all released well-received EPs on the imprint, whilst new names are being A&Red by label head Lars Gregers on a constant basis.
