Secretsundaze represents the British label based in London. The UK imprint was created and run by school friends Giles Smith and James Priestley is of course best known for it’s summertime Sunday parties which have become the stuff of legend, attracting DJs from the world of House and Techno such as Carl Craig, Ricardo Villalobos, Kenny Larkin, Efdemin, Cassy and Chez Damier. The boys have taken the party across the world with regular sessions at Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson, Ibiza and as far a field as Japan and New York.
The singles label aims to further our reputation for breaking new talent, releasing music from some of the many cutting edge artists on our sister booking agency, The Secret Agency.
The first releases come from Chez Damier's young protégé Brawther; the much loved Two Armadillos (Giles Smith and Martin Dawson's project); and the young but very promising UK duo, Ethyl and Flori. Despite having our roots in Deep House the label will not be limited to releasing material of this type / sound and nor from just our existing roster of artists.
Furthermore, following on from the highly acclaimed secretsundaze Volumes 1 and 2 compilation CDs, Volume 3, again mixed by it's longstanding residents and founding fathers Giles Smith and James Priestley was released in June / July 2011.
Over its 11-year history secretsundaze has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative, exciting and fun places to be for house and techno heads and party people alike. Utilising numerous risqué and often open-air venues, they have hosted some of the most colourful parties that London has seen in recent years. With their stylish, hedonistic crowd and their attention to detail on the production side, the parties now have the reputation as being the place that Europe’s finest underground DJs want to play at and Europeans visiting London have to go to. Over the years, the likes of Ame, Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Craig, Tobi Neumann, Trevor Jackson, Luciano, Dan Ghenacia and Steve Bug have all graced the decks.
Not only have their parties become one of the most successful events in London, they’re also found hosting packed arenas at popular festivals such as: TDK Cross Central, Lovebox, Wildchild and 2006’s Best New Festival Bloom. secresundaze have also made a big impact in Europe with highly memorable daytime / outdoor parties in Ibiza (Blue Marlin, Gala Night (the old Zoo)) Sonar (Parc Del Forum, Shoko, Xiringuito Escriba) and Austria’s Snowbombing (Mayhrofen).
2012 has continued where 2011 left off, with sell out gigs all over the globe. May saw the release of the 4th EP from secretsundaze recordings entitled Baia 2012 from secretsundaze's very own James Priestley and his new studio partner Marco Antonio. The rest of 2012 looks set to build on the first 6 months, with a mini-festival planned in London for August as well as gigs taking the brand as far afield as New York.
