Rawthentic Music Since its inception in 2005, Nathan Barato & his brother Jason have worked to make Rawthentic Music a label known for showcasing the grittier, more stripped down sounds of house and techno. The name stolen from American blues legend Bobby Whilcock’s quote describing the raw & root sounds of Eric Clapton, the term “rawthentic” was the perfect title in showcasing such an idealistic project. By having a Toronto homebase and working tightly with the local scene, it only made sense for local artist Carlo Lio to join the Rawthentic crew. Making his own studio production & dj waves in clubland, Carlo solidified Rawthentic as an emerging tech-house label to be reckoned with. |
