Over the past five years Phonica has cemented its reputation as one of the world's foremost retailers of dance and electronic music, offering unparalleled service, stock and expertise. Through both its physical store in London's Soho district and its hugely popular website, Phonica has become an essential destination for record-buyers , thanks to its knowledgeable and passionate staff, many of whom are DJs and producers themselves. It was always going to be a natural step for the store to birth its own label, and now that day is upon us: the focus of the Phonica imprint will be cutting edge house, disco and techno, but expect ventures too into more unusual and experimental climes. Like the store, the label will represent both the local and the global; releases will come from staff, friends, and admired producers from around the world, and each and every one will be made with the discerning dancefloor in mind. It's the beginning of something special.
