Magnus Records was founded in 2012 and is the illegitimate love child of Material Object & Tim Xavier.

Hailing from Berlin, the antipodean known as Material Object fuses the sound of voltage controlled synthesis with the funk of modern Techno to forge something which is both classic and new at the same time. With releases & remixes on labels such as Droid, Perc Trax, Magnus. Material Object has quickly gained recognition from some the biggest names in techno such as Speedy J & Richie Hawtin as well as rising stars Truncate and DVS1.

Fresh from two recent collaborations, the first as Magnus with production wizard Tim Xavier, unleashed a critically acclaimed 12″ that married modular synth bleeps with solid Berlin via Chicago grooves. The second as MODZ with American boy wonder Dustin Zahn, came in the from of the Mid Life Vices EP on the US imprint Droid Recordings takes things on a darker more cerebral dance floor expedition. 2012 also saw him release his second album length collaboration with German ambient mastermind Pete Namlook on his renowned label.

The other half of Magnus, Tim Xavier is the American techno DJ/Producer who is also the mastering engineer at his own vinyl/audio mastering company, Mandmade Mastering. Loved and respected by many, feared by some, Tim Xavier's passionate personality and lifestyle have kept him on the forefront of techno since his first releases almost a decade ago. On the stage Tim is known for his undeniable talent as a once-hard techno mixer turned minimal trend-setter, playing a diverse blend of deep, quirky techno and house music with classic technical skills that make jaws drop.

Magnus is the duo of Tim Xavier and Material Object, releasing on their own Magnus Records imprint. Act Two is only the labels third release, and theyre already creating quite a ripple. This single, available digitally and on sweet sky blue vinyl, has the original, plus remixes from Truncate and Brendon Mueller.

The Magnus Men return with Act Two, the second chapter in what is fast becoming one of technos most talked about projects, this time with all star remixes. The title track Act Two continues where the Magnus debut Act One left off. Raw analog processing meets storming percussion to amp things up whilst preserving that signature funk.

Act Two is custom built for trance manifestation, it puts you in a place and keeps you there. Pure theta state sublimity, visions will flicker behind slitted eyelids, as the voices of the irrational begin to whisper in newly developed areas of the brain.
