Glowworm (Perm, Russia)
Glowworm disco cafe opened in 1995 in Perm (Russia) and became the place where music of different styles was played. It was a small homelike place which held only a few groups of guests. Glowworm was the only hot spot in the city which stayed ahead of electronic dance music and at the same time had no 'fashionable place' cliches.
1998 marked the first party with a featured guest. Since that time Glowworm was introduced as club, which was fuelled by the joint desire of its enthusiastic and professional crew to spread quality music and dancefloor culture in the region. Up to 2003 its playlists are a soundclash of post rock, techno and house vibes with live acts and performances.
In 2003 the club was closed due to issues connected with renters of the venue.
Since 2003 the club had no permanent location. Theme parties were held in different venues.
In 2009 DJ 3vuk (Glowworm resident and promoter) joins DJ U and Mr. Z to found Glowworm label under which they could publish house, deep house, tech house and techno records.
