future visions

Future Vision Records represents the Chicago based music label launched in 2005 as a subdivision of Prescription Records, the House and Deep House imprint founded by Ron Trent.

Chicago resident Ron Trent became a DJ in his early teens in the mid eighties, releasing his first record ‘Altered States’ in 1990 to much acclaim.

In the early nineties, Trent collaborated with house/R&B team Hula & Fingers, producers for Jive records, before going on to set upPrescription Records together with Chez Damier. Together with its sister label Balance, Presciption is widely regarded as one of the most influential deep house imprints, introducing the likes of Anthony Nicholson, Abacus, Moody Man, Norma Jean Bell, Joshua, Peven Everett, Rob Mello, and Luke Solomon to the world.

Trent moved to NYC in 1997, quickly gaining respect as a DJ/producer with dates at Body and Soul, Shelter and hosting his own events at the legendary night club Vinyl in downtown Manhattan. In 2000, Trent started his residency with Giant Step at Shine, one of the most top rated nights in NYC. He also produced in-house on the Giant Step/Sony label, cutting records with Amel Larrieux, Jody Watley, Anastacia, Donnie, Carl Hancock Rux, Lina to name a few.

Future Vision Records includes in its back catalogue a variety of releases coming up from acts like: Indigenous Space People, Ron Trent, Rhythm Of Elements, Rude Boy Silence, Trinidadian Deep, Conjure, Urban Sound Gallery, Missing Soul, amongst several others.
