decision making theory
Decision Making Theory is Stripped down no-nonsense techno label, aimed directly at the dancefloor. The France label is based in Chamonix, France, was eastablished freshly in 2013 and is run by Philippe Petite.
Philippe Petite is a Techno DJ and producer from Brussels, based in Chamonix, France after 15 years in London. Runs vinyl label Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory.
He has launched a new label in September 2011 called Knotweed Records. All Knotweed releases come in vinyl, they are mastered by Mathieu Berthet and distributed worldwide by Syncrophone.
In January 2013, I launched another label, Decision Making Theory (DMT). All DMT releases come in vinyl.
DMT001 (Give/Take E.P.). DMT's first one-sided 33 rpm marbled colored vinyl release consists of two tracks by Knotweed Records owner Philippe Petit. 'Give' starts with some spaced-out chords and then shifts into a dubby Detroit inspired floor filler. The second track, 'Take', is a much darker heavy peak-time affair aimed at blowing the roof off!
DMT002 (Scrape E.P.). Side A is a slow minimalistic bomb with acid tones aimed to burn the dancefloor. Side B starts with Meltdown, a dub track with a heavy kick, where the chords slowly progress to their peaks. The E.P. finishes with Flotation, keeping its core minimalistic concept, full of sub bass and high treble, reminiscing of early Hood or Mills.
DMT 003 (Elements E.P.). Techno with Acid tones and Detroit influences.
DMT 004 (Various Artists I). Philippe Petit invites Lee Holman (Kawl), Gonzalo MD (Knotweed) and Session Restore (Rauh).
