Danse Club Records
Danse Club Records is a new vinyl label venture from brothers Austen and Scott Smart, the sibling duo who produce together under the Brodanse name and who have been signed to Fresh Meat, Chicago, the ever excellent Fullbarr imprint and remixed for the mighty kollektiv turmstrasse on connaisseur Recordings.
The Danse Club label goes straight for the jugular (at a time when the influence of Nineties house music seems to be sweeping the nation) with their 'gold series', an idea that features classic house records from the 90's re-licensed, re-mastered and remixed by today's leading producers. To kick things off the 'Smart' Brothers have picked up a lost gem from 17 years ago, [Cherie Lee's 'Love Me Or Leave Me', a record that appeared on New Jersey label Music Station] and turned to none other than Oliver $ (Beatport track of the year 2011) for remixing duties!
For further remix duties Danse Club have since signed: deepchild, Florian Kruse, Just Be (Bushwacka), lauhaus, Matt Tolfrey, Max Jacobson, Moodymanc, Willie Graff & Tuccillo, John Jastszebski and Lula Circus - not bad for a label that only started in the Autumn of 2012...
With support from Seth Troxler, nic fanciulli, Dusky and Foals and write ups in DJ Mag and Mix Mag it looks like Danse Club is just that - big music for the Dance floor - and even better it is only just getting started!
