Artist >> Toysfornoise
Toysfornoise has been producing electronic music since 1998 when he started jamming with his first Roland TR 505 drum machine and some feedback loops. His roots come from the free parties in Holland in the early 90s and his first proper "house is a feeling" experience came from a proper dose of raves in San Fransisco in 92. Since then he has been walking with at least one leg in the musical world together with the Wirwar and ZMK soundsystems from the south of Holland. He has a love for playing vinyl and his dj and live sets have rocked many floors and fields in places across Europe. Toysfornoise is known for his live sets that are truelly live, you wont see a laptop on the table but instead you'll find loads of analog synths, drum machines and effects all going into a mixer that's being "handled" for real ! For this artist Its all about going into uncharted areas and feeling the music when playing live, exchanging energy and in doing so, charging and discharging each one's battery. His live sets can be a full-on 30 minutes hurricane or when there is time they can end up in a long jam that can go on for hours. His first vinyl release was done for the dutch Team Wasted label and since then he has released a 12" for Neurotrope Records, there are also various things in the pipeline with some other labels for the near future. Most of his stuff has however been released on his own labels Accu Records and Wide Awake Records. Recently Toysfornoise has done a digital release for Spirit Of Progress and there is more "digital only" stuff on its way from this corner. The earlier releases were done under his real name Paul van der Wees but he quickly went to using a more suitable aka, the love for circuit bending and the use of toys for his livesets explain it all. |
