Mhyst trained classically on piano, violin and guitar from a very young age. She achieved her Grade 8 with 140+ marks, however she never really felt ?at home? in that kind of music. From her early teens, she began experimenting with synth sounds and techno music, joining a techno and rave group in 1995.
As time passed, Mhyst decided to go solo and write her own music. It began with a commissioned song, dedicated to a singer songwriter whom she had worked with, who sadly died of cancer. The song was played at his funeral and due to the emotion it evoked, Mhyst decided to pursue her writing. Her first album ?Comfort In My Pain? was never released but is an emotional journey through all the saddest parts of her life.
A number of years later in 2001, Mhyst got together her own small studio and started to work on electronic music, but with the focus on deeper and more melodic main lines instead of thumping rhythms. Mhyst said ?Working in a night club half put me off club music due to the constant headaches it caused.?
2003 to 2005 was a dormant period for Mhyst, taking time off to have her son and to study at college. In 2006/2007 she had a little more time to indulge again and got back into the studio writing 4 albums in total, ?Prophecy?, ?New Horizon?, ?Acid Dreams? and ?Neon? which were all uplifting trance. The Acid Dreams album has now been remastered and released for the first time since its production.
2008 brought a new musical unity when she met Robb. In honour of his improvisational skills and great appreciation of her music, Mhyst wrote the album ?Robb?. This too has not been released.
Since then both have produced a co-written album and a solo album each, under The Fusion Room Records label. Mhyst is now writing her second solo album ?Solarium? and remixing previous work for an exciting trance release.
