It?s virtually unthinkable that the native German, born in Düsseldorf, would hit any other direction than electronic music. Massimo had already begun at the age of 16 as a Hip Hop DJ, performing on various events. The Major Company EMI became interested in Massimo and his band "Colorblind" immediately, and published two EP's and a LP. In ?93 Massimo started to develop his music more towards electronic dance, becoming one of the first resident DJ?s of the legendary "Warehouse" in Cologne. Within a short time his progressive Sets gained momentum, attracting clubbers from all over Germany to see him perform. He started to receive requests from clubs such as: "Airport"/ Würzburg, "Omen"/ Frankfurt, "Tresor"/ Berlin, alongside other European/US requests. DJ Massimo had finally found and created his own unforgettable niche in the German Dance Music Scene. Massimo has been described by many familiar with his sets as being a real DJs DJ, loving to play any set from between 2-15 hours in a night. His immaculate mixing skills always leaving the clubbers asking for more? Apart from mixing, Massimo also turned his hand to his own productions ? although with his at least 2 nights a week globe trotting Djing career, he gradually learned all the skills required to create his very own tracks. You can find his name on labels such as "Primate", "SOK", ?PV Records?,"Compressed","Artform" and "Superfly". His success and ever growing popularity have reflected in the sales of his Mix-Compilations "Monotrain" or "Wheels of Steel" Each having sold out almost the minute they entered the record stores. There is hardly anyone in the electronic scene who doesn't remember and miss Germany?s-even today-most innovative and cutting edge dance music radio station "Evosonic", "The 14th Breath" slot produced and created by Massimo, became very reknown, just as the transmission show hosted by Chris Liebing, "Evopool". In 1999 Massimo founded the event concept: "Definition of Techno". The event concept clearly presents electronic music without compromises. Within a short time the size and popularity increased enabling the project to enter new boundaries. Massimo's guest DJ's have included: Chris Liebing, Technasia,Wangorsch, Pascal F.E.O.S., Gayle San, Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother, Thomas P. Heckmann, Monika Kruse, Thomas Krome, Joel Mull ? ? some of the most important producers and DJ's of our time. To name but a few! The homebase of "Definition of Techno" is the club "Essigfabrik" in Cologne?watch this space!!!! In collaboration with Go Between Massimo created the cultural festival ?ultra? in 2004. The unique concept of this event combines electronic music with cultural aspects to discover new insights. Besides national and international acts ?ultra? also presented writers and artists. 2004 Massimo was focussing more on his productions and international popularity, the first new breakthrough being an EP, by the man himself, due for release later this year on the U.K?s Artform Records (Artform 021, Intergroove, Germany) following successful past releases from G&VCT , Jamie Anderson (NRK, Mood II Swing). Massimo?s EP is followed up by a long awaited EP from one of Tech Funk?s Masters: Dave Angel. Shortly after his debut on Artform, Massimo founded his own label ?Definition of Techno? reflecting his club nights and creating a platform to release his own and other favoured producers productions. The first release ?Under Influence? appeared in December 2004 followed 2005 by ?The Next Chapter?, which got rave reviews, and other releases.
