Gabriel Guerrero is an Italian producer of electronic music.
Born in Belluno in 1973. By the age of 7 he began to listen with interest and pleasure discs and cassette tapes of his older brother Stephen at the time of broadcast in a small local radio station (Radio Belluno Young - year 1980). The 15 year old brother Stephen, with a great passion for radio, he began to buy and play the pop records of the time and record their own radio programs on cassette and then play back your recordings at home, and the child comes in contact with Gabriel's music groups as Yazoo, Falco, Genesis, Alan Parsons Project, Off, Depeche Mode, Righiera, Duran Duran and many other manufacturers dance pop era (1980-1986). In 1989 at the age of 16 she began attending the Sunday afternoon with friends, local clubs and remains fascinated by the figure of Disco and DJ. In 1992 he joined the faculty of Computer Engineering at the University of Trento and after a year he moved to the University of Padua. The technical and artistic maturation occurs during the period 1993-1997 which represents the most intense phase in the musical journey of Gabriel Guerrero. In this period he built a small home recording studio, purchase and use various synthesizers and drum machines, and hardware of various types, all using the protocol and interface with your PC midi. On an artistic level, however, fails to make the qualitative leap in the world of music and to enter the professional sphere, this due to several factors, including the narrow provincial reality where he lives with his family, and the resulting lack of meaningful contact and opportunities in music, in particular in the field of electronic music. In the meantime continues his studies in computer science at the University, however, devoting much energy and passion and listening to electronic music production. In 1998 he finally realizes that the field of professional music is a goal too far away and difficult to reach for a Belluno, and the economic situation of a student, and decides to sell all the equipment built negl'anni previous study and devote himself to a more traditional career path. He began working as a software programmer in the company of a friend. But the passion for house music will leave not ever. In 1999 he discovers the great pleasure of Propellerhead Rebirth revolutionary software program. A true revolution. This software provides a virtual environment in the 3 cornerstones of House and Techno music: Roland 808 & 909 + Roland 303 bassline, reviving the power of these expensive machines in a simple interface on the PC. Gabriel readily buy the new software and start the path of study and production of Reason, a program that to this day. In 2001, Gabriel began to seek a way to use their own digital productions and performance in them public through the use of a notebook, trying to bring a live set and innovative alternative compared to traditional vinyl and CD. He discovered at that time the German software company Native Instruments, which offers a revolutionary program for mixing wav and mp3 tracks: Traktor 1.0. Buy the new software in 2002 and began studying it trying to figure out how to check the program to produce a new live show by playing his own productions. Buy the first midi controller from the German company Doepfer, and then switch to a sophisticated digital mixer Tascam. In April 2002 he was invited to play in a big event in Padua, and offers a live performance, using a laptop and some controllers. Gets in that event a great success. That same year father and marries, continuing his professional career as a software consultant in Belluno.
From 2002 to 2007, between work and family continues to produce house music and techno in his spare time, using only Reason and occasionally plays in some local event always using laptop and Traktor DJ sets, and each time offering high quality, very sophisticated and refined .
In March 2007, in a nostalgic phase, once again decides to buy back a variety of vintage equipment that used previously in the mid degl'anni 90, including the legendary Roland Groovebox 303 and 307. Start dusting off the old techniques of production, produces a dozen pieces, and performed again with a live MC 3O3 Belluno in a room, at a party organized for the 33rd birthday of a friend. The party can very well, and the performance a great success. In 2007, focuses on the production of tracks using only the older hardware equipment, including an analog synthesizer groove boxes and Emu, and produces independent record label with an EP. In 2007 he performed in several plays and some live DJ sets proving to be successful. The style of these productions is vintage, and the tracks are very similar to Detroit techno degl'anni 90.
In the three years following the 2008-2010 economic crisis affects the world professionally, and while the family grew with the birth of their second child. The musical productions, however, still continue, although with a lower rate because of the limited time available.
