Since he was born in March 1983, he was living in a calm village near Frankfurt. He had a very sheltered upbringing with his parents and grandparents. Already in his early childhood he knew that he was different than other kids. While other kids were playing in the sandpit, Basti put on the headphones and screwed and turned all buttons on the stereo system of his father. He misplaced sounds and already tried to regulate the treble. His father was loving reggae music and also Basti liked it very much. From this time on his passion was music.
At the age of 14 his biggest wish was to own a Roland MC 303. As his lovely family was fulfilling nearly every wish, he got the 303 and since then he spent lots of hours, day and night, to convert his thoughts into sound. At the age of 15 he was having fun with lots of parties in the techno scene of Frankfurt and Kassel. In clubs like Omen, Stammheim, MTW and later also the Robert Johnson he celebrated great parties and got lots of inspirations. He had the dream that he would like to stand behind the decks to heat the masses. So he bought his first turntables and taught everything himself.
In 2005 he founded ?Electronic Headache/Massive Frequenzen? with his friend Billy and started some parties in the Wetterau area. Both were really popular and they filled clubs like studio 54 or Club Fifty. As Basti couldn?t get enough of music nothing could keep him off of producing his own tracks.
In 2007 he founded his own label Höhenregler and a short time later he released his first vinyl (höhe 01) which he was distributing by himself. The parties at club fifty, named ?massive frequenzen? and ?höhenregler label night? got more and more popular with acts like Pierre, Marky, Bine, Brian Sanahji and others.With his second release (höhe 02) he realised that it is hard to distribute everything by himself and he applied to the vinyl distribution DISCOMANIA. There he started successfully. His friend, idol and teacher Brian Sanhaji could teach him a lot of helpful things. Basti?s mixture of groovy, minimal techno and african sounds make him unique and unmistakable. Meanwhile he has some releases on his own label but also on others. Basti doesn?t feel his being as producer and dj as a daily work, he is feeling this as a way of life.An attitude of life which he wants to share with others. This is the way how he would like to spread his sound out into the world. His impulse to get more and more better and to develop himself will give his audience a lot of musically surprises in the future.
