| Subtronic was born in April 1979 in the small, German city of Neuruppin, and already began to gather interest for electronic music at the age of 13. At that time he was interested in many music styles until the world of techno began to become more and more his taste. It was then that he realized that DJ?ing and inspiring a club audience was a fantastic experience and one in which he was determined to take part.
He began first playing hardcore because of his interest in this kind of sound. But it didn?t take long before he passed through this stage and slowly veered his interested towards a groovier, industrial sound. At 18 he decided that he would make more out of his passion and began to introduce himself carefully in diverse clubs, knowing that this would not be an easy task for a young man from a small town. Nevertheless the chance presented itself in the form of his first gig in Tresor Club, presenting his set at one of the New Faces nights. Adding to this were more dates at other events and parties. His musical style naturally changed with time, especially when the spectrum of electronic music was stretching itself widely and it was difficult to know what he would be playing in a few years. In 2000 he was given the chance to participate in the regular Headquarters nights in Tresor, where he could design his delegated nights that included giving more New Faces the possibility to show their talents. This was of course a big step in the direction of club DJ, and he followed with a composition for the Tresor Headquarters release on Tresor Records (Tresor.197). Now he runs an own Record Label "Monotone Leidenschaft" and provides his music and music of other fine atists to the world. |
