| Simon Owen is part of the new wave of Techno and Electronica producers emerging from the Birmingham underground. He is currently producing for and running the Xenophorm brand, encompassing the Xenophorm and xe:tech:no music labels, PhormAtion club night and Xenophorm Studios in the centre of the second city.
As a DJ he has entertained crowds around the country with his trademark styles of groove-licked stomping Techno and heart-wrenching, ass-shaking soul at events such as Electric Monkey, Osmosis, Alternation, Subculture, warpandwoof and of course; his own club night ? PhormAtion, alongside top names such as London Techno legend Mark Williams and local hero?s DK Roon and Harvey Lane.
In 2006 Simon's debut single - "Unex", was released worldwide as part of the "xe:tech:no 001" EP followed recently by the release of his first full-length production album ?The rainbow that set the sky on fire? and the newly unleashed ?Stretched Leopard? and ?re-Evolution? EP?s on the xe:tech:no label.
He is currently working towards the release of his second production album, whilst maintaining theLAB sessions monthly podcast and continuing to manufacture his own sonic imprint at the Xenophorm studios and on the global club scene. |
