| In 1999, Toni Bélmez with his moniker Rubeck, started to make his musical career through mixtapes, collaborations, remixes and own productions. His first compositions were inspired by intelligent electronic (IDM) acts from labels such as Warp, K7, Mille Plateaux and Skam. Before 2004, his musical movements took place inside abstract atmospheres and geometrics, through hidden melodies, broken rhythms, synths and digital errors. At the same time he also started to work with artists working in other realms, such as the photographer and video creator José Morraja, video artist and VJ Raquel Meyers and the designer Sinpatron. A relation between images and sound carefully developed through the time working together. This led to an important part of his live performances, performances that has covered most of the Spanish peninsula, Madrid, Valencia, Donosti, Alicante, Bilbao, Coruña, Barcelona?
2005 was the year that changed his musical direction towards clubs and festivals for more dance oriented music, thanks to his demo ?Save the robots?. He left the abstract musical world and began to compose a colder more mechanical and dark music for the dance-floor, at the same time he started a permanent collaboration with the video artist Raquel Meyers who also do vocals on some of Rubeck's work. A year later, he caught attention from the net label Magnolia Digital who released his work together with I.B. from Valencia and Nikola Gala from Greece, and in 2008 we saw the birth of his first longplayer ?Like sex drops of gin tonic?. The full album ?Gorgeous and Wet (is how we roll)? became the first release on DFE Records, on the sub label Love Reactor. In this album we can hear Rubeck's, who the last years have been burning dance-floors with his live shows, new form of electronics with a nod to the past and a furious look to the future. Welcome to Aquavit Records Rubeck.
