Artist Richard Hanno

For Richard, techno is a consequence of our modern world: "We are forced to rely on our brain and intellect in order to function and fit into society. We are secure with regard to basic needs, but insecure about ourselves, on a constant search for sense and satisfaction. Techno is so extreme that it makes us forget everything around us and gives us the possibility to live in the moment. It repeats this moment on and on with a powerful beat and lets us discover it with our senses. We are no more asked to function, we can leave brain and intellect behind and and let ourselves drop into the music." Born in Würzburg, Germany, Richard initially was influenced by 'Frankfurt style' dominated techno in the early nineties and began producing electronic music back then. "I soon discovered the fast evolution of this music, merging all kinds of styles from all over the world together under a four to the floor beat. The fact, that techno can reinvent itself and always suprise you makes it so fascinating and will keep it alive".
