Terror Danjah's first Hyperdub single of 2011 is an amazing coup, pulling out of the archive a near-perfect collaboration with singer Meleka, where Terror tempers his grimey production, veering uncharacteristically towards featherlight lushness, while lacing Meleka's sensuous, pitched melisma with a deceptively vicious sub. Terror's crisp, asymmetric bed of stuttering drums remind us of a time gone by when Timbaland's falter-funk R&B rhythm programming was an inspiration. 'Morph 2' featuring D.O.K. is the yang to 'U Make Me Feel's yin, drawing gruff, serious strings through hall of mirrors micro-edits, dragging the riff backwards, punctuating it with gremlin chuckles and “woo”s and running the pattern against a tense bleepy melody. It's a dark and vertiginous rush with all the anger of Grime at it's ferocious peak.
