Dan Ghenacia, the force behind the inaugural label of Parisian house talent Freak n’Chic, returns alongside his closest allies Dyed Soundorom and Shonky to launch their new imprint – Apollonia.
Sharing the same roots, the same tastes and the same musical vision, Apollonia was a natural, if not inevitable progression for the three friends. “We’ll mainly focus on releasing our own music, but of course we are also really open-minded to sign any producers we all enjoy,” says Dyed.
The label will serve as a platform for the trio’s productions, representing new beginnings based on a solid family that have already done much to shape the underground house scene, in Paris and beyond. If the former era was a learning curve for all three, in both the music and business sense, one has high expectations for the quality of production on Apollonia to come !
Shonky’s EP ‘The Minneapolis Touch’ will mark the first release for the label. Forthcoming in February 2012, it features three tracks of strong house grooves, hynoptic melodies and hushed vocals for his signature sultry sound.
