Last year was huge for young producer Marco Giuliani AKA Last Japan. With “Qi” garnering huge support from industry and his remix of Crystal Fighters “Xtatic Truth” appearing on TV series Skins Last Japan went on to release two further records on Southern Fried and gain mass support from the likes of Radio 1’s Toddla T and DJ Target. 2011 and the rising star continues on the up and releases ‘Settle Down/Girl featuring Bobbie Gordon’ on Four40 Recordings. “Settle Down” combines the heartfelt lyrics of Gordon as Last Japan’s drawn out chord sequences squirm over a powerful and pushing sub bass; sterling remixes come from Bondax, Asa and Stumbleline. Second track “Girl” speeds things up as a highly electronic concoction of bleeps form the captivating high end while more rumbling sub bass echoes below for depth.
