?Sanderson Dear takes you on an episodic journey to distant galaxies powered by three inspired tracks, steeped in sci-fi lore on his Deep Space EP. “Probe7” begins the trek with rhythms and sweeping atmospherics as tense overtones propel near a foreboding planet while voice-overs aboard a starship debate exploration. Next, the cryptically titled “092502” breathes a yearning, wistful soul into synthesizer banks and sound modules, a ghost that haunts the digital machines (and memory) long after listening. Finally, there is the breath-taking “Lady Magenta” with its layered tech-rhythms and a constellation of atmospheric notes and melodies that swirl around streaming guitar riffs; mid-way, melodic hooks form a lush celestial cluster.Long time DJ, Sanderson Dear dropped the needle on house, Detroit techno, ambient, and spectrums in between at better clubs between Toronto, Canada and Melbourne, Australia. At some point Dear stopped 'just listening' to records by others and began to listen to his own muse. Deep Space EP on Stasis Recordings is his second released effort and the premier one on this imprint. Evident in these well-crafted tracks is his reverence for Detroit techno and science fiction fused with a keen sense of atmosphere that sets Dear apart from his influence into a realm all his own.
